We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions regarding the revitalization project in Vieux Pointe-aux-Trembles . Please take a moment to review them. You are likely to find all the information you are looking for.


1. What are the eligibility criteria for the housing units? How will tenants be selected ?

The Angus Group will adhere to the criteria outlined in its agreement with the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ), which specifies distinct income thresholds by region. 

For the year 2024, the maximum income limits were as follows:

Number of individuals and maximum household income

  • 1 individual: $56,571
  • 2 individuals: $80,003
  • 3 individuals: $97,993
  • 4 individuals: $113,141
  • 5 individuals: $126,496

The maximum income limits for 2025 will be updated in the coming weeks.

2. How much will the Vieux Pointe-aux-Trembles units cost to rent ? 

In line with our agreement with the SHQ and the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), rental prices will be fixed for the first 5 years. After that, they will be adjusted according to the rates established by the Administrative Housing Tribunal (TAL).

If the units had been rented out in 2024, the following rental prices would have applied:

Type and monthly rent:

  • Studio (2½): $945
  • 1 room (3½): $1,069
  • 2 rooms (4½): $1,202
  • 3 rooms (5½): $1,415

Please note that these rental prices are indexed to inflation. 

3. Can I reserve a unit now ?

You will be able to express your interest in leasing an apartment from the first week of May until May 22, 11:59 pm. We invite you to register and answer all the questions on the form. All registrants will be contacted, whether or not they are selected. You can register on this website.

4. Where is the project located ?

The units will occupy 3 lots in Pointe-aux-Trembles. They will be located at 505, Ste-Anne street (building A), 95, Ste-Anne street (building B) and 51 – 85, Ste-Anne street (building C)

5. When will the first tenants be able to move in ?

The first tenants will be able to move into building A at the beginning of October. Tenants in buildings B and C will be able to move in by February 2026. Of course, not all 109 tenants will move in at the same time. A schedule will be drawn up when the time comes.

6. How will the housing units be allocated ? 

The allocation of housing units will not be on a first-come, first-served basis. Each interested person must register on our selection portal and answer all the questions on the form. Our team will then evaluate each application according to criteria pre-established by the SHQ, and carry out standard surveys. This will ensure a fair process, giving all applicants an equal chance. You will be able to register via the form which will be available on this site in the first week of May.

7. What sizes will be available ?

There will be 1, 2 and 3‑bedroom units available, with average sizes of 645 sq. ft. for a 1 bedroom unit (3½), 846 sq. ft. for a 2 bedroom unit (4½), and 1,060 sq. ft. for a 3 bedroom unit (5½).

8. How many of each type will be available ?

  • 2 ½ : 1 unit
  • 3 ½ : 27 units
  • 4 ½ : 71 units
  • 5 ½ : 10 units

9. What is included in the rental price ?

Rental prices do not include extra expenses, such as parking, electricity, internet, furniture or appliances.

10. Will parking spaces be available ?

Yes, 17 car parking spaces are planned for building A, as well as 43 spaces for buildings B and C. Approximately 109 bicycle parking spaces will also be available.

11. Is smoking cigarettes or cannabis allowed inside the units ?

No. Smoking cigarettes or cannabis is prohibited inside the units, on the balconies and in communal areas. Outdoor smoking will be permitted at least 9 metres from the building’s entrances.

12. Will tenants be allowed to have pets inside the units ?

We understand the attachment many people feel toward their pets. However, certain conditions may apply, depending on the type of accommodation or the particular situation. Full details will be provided when the lease is signed.

13. Are there entrances for appliances, including washers and dryers, in the units ?

There are washer and dryer entries in the units. However, the space available is not the same. There are no shared laundry facilities in any of the buildings.

Building A

  • Refrigerator: 33“ x 70” opening
  • Dishwasher: 24″ opening
  • Washer and dryer: must be installed side by side (standard size)
  • Stove: 30″ opening

Buildings B and C

  • Refrigerator: 34 ½“ x 70” opening
  • Dishwasher: 24″ opening
  • Washer-dryer: must be stacked, maximum combined height 75″, including lint filter
  • Stove: 30″ opening 

14. What services will be included in the revitalization project in Vieux Pointe-aux-Trembles ?

The project is an affordable housing initiative. To keep rental prices in line with our agreement with the SHQ, no additional services beyond the maintenance of communal areas will be offered.
